Mississippi Mane & Co. makes handmade beard care. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit mississippimaneandco.com or buy from us, how we use it, and the choices you have. “We,” “us” and “our” mean Mississippi Mane & Co.
The short version
- We collect what we need to fill your order, ship it and keep in touch.
- We never sell your personal information, and we don’t share it with anyone for their own advertising.
- Your email address gets your order and shipping notifications. It joins our mailing list for sales, coupons and new products only if you choose to, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
- Your card details go straight to our payment processors. We never see or store your full card number.
Information we collect
Information you give us
When you place an order, create an account, join our mailing list, write a review or contact us, we collect the information you provide, such as:
- your name, email address and phone number
- your billing and shipping addresses
- what you ordered, and any notes you add to your order
- your account login, if you create one
- reviews you post and messages you send us
Payment information
Payments are handled by our payment processors, PayPal and WooPayments (powered by Stripe), including cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay. You enter your payment details directly with them. We receive only limited details, such as the card type, the last four digits and whether the payment went through.
Technical information
Like most websites, ours receives some technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you view and the site that sent you to us. We use it to run the store, keep it secure and understand how people find us.
Cookies
Cookies are small files your browser stores for a website. We use cookies and similar technologies to:
- keep the items in your cart and keep you signed in
- process checkout securely and help our payment processors prevent fraud
- protect the site from bots and abuse
- remember how you found us (for example, a link from Instagram or a search engine), which is saved with your order
- remember settings like light or dark mode
We don’t use advertising cookies or tracking pixels. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, but the cart and checkout won’t work without them.
How we use your information
- to process, ship and deliver your orders, and to handle returns and exchanges
- to send order emails: order confirmations, shipping notifications with tracking, and account emails such as password resets
- to send marketing emails about sales, coupons and new products (see “Our emails” below)
- to answer your questions and help with your orders
- to prevent fraud and protect our store and our customers
- to improve our website and products
- to keep the records and meet the legal and tax obligations that apply to us
Our emails
Our mailing list is opt-in. You join it when you tick the box at checkout or sign up with our form, and we use it to send occasional emails about sales, coupons and new products.
Every marketing email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom, or you can email us and we’ll take you off the list. Unsubscribing stops marketing emails only: you’ll still get emails about orders you place, such as order confirmations and shipping notifications.
We don’t sell your information
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We don’t share it with other companies for their own marketing or for targeted advertising.
Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that help us run the store, and only what each one needs to do its job:
- our payment processors, PayPal and WooPayments (powered by Stripe), to take payments and prevent fraud
- shipping carriers such as the U.S. Postal Service, and our shipping label service, to deliver your order
- our email marketing service, which sends our mailing-list emails, and the email delivery service that sends our order emails
- the companies that host, protect and deliver our website
These providers may use your information only to provide their services to us. We may also share information when the law requires it, to protect our rights or someone’s safety, or as part of a sale or transfer of our business, in which case this policy would still apply to your information.
Reviews you post on our products are public, along with the name you choose to show.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for as long as we need them for accounting, tax and legal purposes. Your email stays on our mailing list until you unsubscribe, and your account stays until you ask us to delete it. Technical logs are kept for a limited time for security.
Your choices and rights
- Unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time.
- Ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct or delete your information. We may need to keep some order records the law requires.
- Update your details yourself in My Account, if you have one.
Depending on where you live, you may have more rights under local privacy laws. To make a request, email us at [email protected]. We’ll respond within the time the law requires, and we won’t treat you differently for asking.
Security
Our site uses encryption (HTTPS), and our payment processors meet the payment card industry’s security standard (PCI DSS). No website can promise perfect security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.
Children
Our store is meant for adults. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child has given us information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Where your information is kept
We’re based in Mississippi, and the information you give us is stored and processed in the United States.
Links to other sites
Our site links to other sites, such as Instagram. Their privacy practices are their own, so please read their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we’ll change the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we’ll say so on our site or by email.
